She will be sadly missed by her daughters, by her cherished grandaughters, Lauren and Maeve, by her son-in-law, Garvan, and by her brother, Stewart. She brought so much colour, glamour and fun to so many lives and she will be missed always by her family and many, many friends. Funeral Service and cremation at 2.00pm tomorrow (Wednesday) in Newlands Cross Crematorium. Family flowers only.

And under the daisies no grave be so deep

But the hoofs of the horses shall sound in my sleep.

Memories of Val

Val was the very first person we met when we moved to Dublin. I was feeling very overwhelmed as I tried to manage the movers and my two little girls as we moved into our house. In the middle of all this commotion who should walk through my door but Val with her granddaughter in tow!

She noticed that there were toys outside the house and thought that maybe the girls could play together. Well that was back in 2000 and not only did the girls play but they became good friends, as did Val and I.

We shared many meals and great conversation over the years and when I was feeling blue I could always rely on Val to advise and bring me out of my doldrums.

She instilled her love of horses onto my girls and Saturday mornings would see them all setting off for a day at the stables.

My daughters thought she was the coolest lady ever and were very fond of her. As was I and my husband. I miss our times and cha together and even though she is gone, we will never forget her. Val was a vibrant, colourful, forward thinking woman and she will be forever in our hearts.
