STOKES, Mary (née Gogarty), (Donnybrook, Dublin) (formerly of Ballsbridge College of Further Education) - February 6, 2014, after a long illness. Mary dearly loved her husband Dermot and her sons Fiachra and Connla, their partners Keeley and TuAnh and her adored grandchildren Sadie, Caelan and Tiarnan and she was dearly loved by them. Her gentle intelligence, sense of humour and unstinting generosity will be greatly missed by her extended family and wide circle of friends, former colleagues, neighbours and fellow campaigners. In accordance with her wishes, Mary's remains have been donated to medical science. A celebration of her life will be held in the Royal College of Physicians, 6 Kildare Street, Dublin on Tuesday, February 11 at 11.00am. No flowers by request. On the anniversary of the death of our beloved Mary, her husband Dermot and sons, Fiachra and Connla, and their respective families in Boulder, Colorado and Saigon, Vietnam, offer sincere thanks to everyone for the love and generosity shown at the time of her death and since. The support of extended family, friends, former colleagues and neighbours has helped us to bear our great loss. At the celebration of her life last February speakers and musicians paid tribute to the quiet intelligence, sense of humour, activism and unstinting generosity that characterised her personal and professional life. Please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our immense gratitude and appreciation.
