MAHON, JOAN

MAHON (née O'Connor) Joan of (Cluny Grove, Killiney, Co. Dublin formerly of Muingyroogeen, Banteer, Co Cork) died February 10, 2013. As her First Anniversary approaches, Joan's daughters, Jillian (Cunningham), Trina and Elaine (Connelly) would like to express their sincere thanks to all their extended family, friends and neighbours for their support, Mass cards, letters of sympathy and gestures of kindness received both at the time of Joan's death and since. We are very grateful to all who came to the house and attended her funeral Mass, particularly those who travelled long distances to be with us as sad goodbyes were said to a wonderful woman, mother and grandmother, and to those who shared their wonderful humorous stories and experiences of Joan as she touched their lives. Our appreciation goes to Fr. Declan Gallagher of Dalkey parish, O'Donovan Funeral directors and the musicians who made the ceremony a beautiful celebration of Joan's life. At this time, also we particularly want to acknowledge Breda Packenham and her caring team in Carysfort Nursing home, Glenageary for their enduring warmth and kindness to Joan in her last difficult year. And to those who often sat and held Joan's hand giving her both comfort and company, our heartfelt thanks. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this as a token of our appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for all. Joan lived a long life, full of caring and kindness retaining a sense of humour even in the most difficult of times. She was an example to us all - she is much missed.
