Uncle

He was just Uncle Michael to us but as we grew older, we realised he was far more.

He was a father, a husband, a big brother and a friend. He was a lover of animals and plants and people and fun. He listened and he told stories. He gave advice, chided, cajoled and charmed. He knew his onions, his tomatoes and his beetroot but knew more of his family tree and heralded green shoots with great joy.

He had integrity and wisdom and his own special ways. He was your dad, your partner, your brother and your friend.

For us he was just Uncle Michael and we miss him like mad. Rest in peace Michael.
With love from Brian, Fiona, Louise and especially Philip xxxx
