DUANE, Major John, MC (WW2), late of Carra, Kilrickle, Loughrea, Co. Galway - January 17, 2012, under the excellent care of Retreat Nursing Home, Athlone, Co. Westmeath, in his 97th year. Beloved husband of the late Doreen (née Ryan), late of Lever Bros. (Ireland) and former captain of Galway Golf Club. Much loved uncle and granduncle, sadly missed by his nieces Carmel Devlin (Athlone), Marian Garvey (Kilrickle), nephews Sean and Pat Rice (Limerick and Mullingar), their spouses Pat, Francis, Nina and Rose, sister-in-law Katie, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives and friends. Reposing at Kilboys Funeral Home, Bride Street, Loughrea tomorrow (Wednesday) from 5.30 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by removal to St. Brendan's Cathedral, Loughrea. Funeral Mass at 12 noon tomorrow (Thursday), followed by internment in the Carmelite Abbey Cemetery, Loughrea.Requiescat in pace.
