Shocked and very sad

I only heard the tragic news last night, I worked for Niall for a couple of years. My heart goes out to Matthew and the rest of the family. I often thought about how Niall was doing, and hoped he was happy. I was only looking for him on facebook the other day. I'm very sorry to hear of his passing and the family are in my thoughts xxx

A Good Friend

I just wanted to say how upset I was when I heard of the sad news. Niall was an old schoolfriend but also somebody who I came to know well through business and socialising. He was always trustworthy, honest and genuine. Although I didnt see much of him over the last 5 years or so, he was very good to me on many occasions. I have nothing but pleasant thoughts and respect for Niall. May he rest in peace.

Niall Carruth

Tribute from a long forgotten Larkhill school classmate...

Hi Niall,

We shared the same class in Larkhill primary school for six years, probably pre-school before that too.

I remember you and your dear twin brother Kevin as being among the two brightest kids in the class.

You and Kevin shared the same desk right up at the front of the class and to the left of our long term teacher Mr Moran's desk, and I remember how brilliant you were at maths, and how Mr (Brendan) Moran used to single you out for special 'teacher's pet' attention, often hunched over your desk helping you out personally amidstour crowdedclass of 40 plus students.

You were I remember such a gentle and respectful soul, and a very very dedicated student with impeccable handwriting.

It was and is with great sadness thatIbecame aware ofyour premature departure from our earthly shores, a tragic and permanent, unthinking antidote to what was just a temporary malaise of the soul.

No doubt you picked out a nice pair of shades for God, he'll need them for his new brightest star.

RIP Niall...

- Ken O'Neill
