With merriment and kindness you
pulled each one of us
Back from the pit of anguish
so many times.
You were there - solace in the thought.
Were we all so lacking that not one of us
Sufficed to help? Or were you too deep to reach?
And what about Dilly?
These questions whirl about the mind and shock.
That such kindness, compassion, generosity and fun
Should find such a gap in us your friends,
When the time came for you to enter the dark pit.
