SMYTH (Ballinacurra, Limerick) - October 17, 2009, in his 98th year, (peacefully), in the loving care of the staff of Millbrae Lodge Nursing Home, Newport, Charles James, beloved husband of the late Rhoda and dearly loved father of Ken and Jean; deeply regretted by his son, daughter, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family. Removal from Thompson's Funeral Home, Thomas Street this (Monday) evening at 6 o'clock to St. Mary's Cathedral arriving at 6.30 o'clock Funeral Service tomorrow (Tuesday) at 2 o'clock followed by burial in adjoining Cemetery. Family flowers please."The souls of the righteous
are in the hands of God".

<p>Sincere sympathy</p> <p>Charlie was often mentioned in conversations with his cousin the late Annie Watts. She thought very highly of him. I knew him only slightly, meeting him shopping in Tesco from time to time. He was always in good humour .</p>
