Gordy, An Inspiration To The Inspired

Gordy marked every face with a deep and genuine impression - a smile that inspired all other expressions, which had previously been called 'joy'.

He was a warrior for the individual. He fought the good fight - the fight that so many lose in translation and transition. Gordy was a light, so bright that night ceased to exist.

He did all of this with an intense humor. There was never a 'Gordy story' that lacked a gripping hilarity, with unbending awe. His interjections in any scene are his permanent memorabilia in our recollections of him.

I miss Gordy. I have missed him and will continue missing him. If I did believe in reincarnation (and i am sure Gordy would want me to), I would be confident we would see him again, renewed in body but as ancient, quirky, intelligent, courageous and individual as ever, with a new set of eyes and hands to lay into the world.

For now, I will do my best to keep his fire alive. I will remembering him in every individual I meet, who has maintained their noble vision of youth and will recall Gordy and his courage, when facing the challenges set upon a noble visionary.

We love you Gordy. You left the world too soon for me.

Love,

Kiwi

Thank you, Gordon

I first met Gordon many years ago, when he collaborated with the Douglas Hyde Gallery on our Tibetan Kalachakra Sand Mandal project (which turned out to be the most popular exhibition in the DHG's history). We subsequently worked together on other projects, and he remained an enthusiastic supporter of the Gallery.

Gordon also became a personal friend, and I came to know, appreciate, and love his extravagant energy, openness, and wonder. He was a special and extraordinary man, and I shall miss him very much.

Old friend

Deepest sympathy to Julie and all of your family. I was shocked to hear you were taken away so young, by such a cruel illness. I cherish fond memories of our schooldays.
