O'SULLIVAN Gerald C. (Caheragh and Curraheen, Cork) February 12, 2012 - On this Gerry's First Anniversary we thank all extended family, wonderful friends and neighbours, and the staff of Cork Cancer Research Centre for your love and support through the many months of Gerry's illness. The care he received from his colleagues, in the Mercy, in particular the Oncology and Palliative Care Departments and Dr. Michael Madden, was above and beyond what we could have hoped for. We miss him every day but thinking of him makes us smile, not cry. Ár míle buíochas for attending and making Gerry's funeral a true celebration of his life, for visiting or phoning, for sending Mass cards, wonderful letters, messages of sympathy or donations to his Centre. Thank you to the staff and sisters at his beloved Mercy for the poignant tribute as he departed your doors, to Dean Ó'Dálaigh for the Mass service, to Cara and the Curraheen Church Choir for the beautiful music and to his West Cork neighbours and friends for the guard of honour at his funeral. We wish to thank those who travelled long distances, especially from overseas, to be with us. Thanks Michael, Des and Gary for your unfaltering friendship in Gerry's last days and to John and Margaret for a lifetime of neighbourly kindness. Although impossible to thank and acknowledge individually, we are truly overwhelmed by the generosity and support we have received since our bereavement. Please accept this acknowledgement, which is but a token of our heartfelt gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions. Breda, Orla, Gearóid and Eoghan. Gerry's First Anniversary Mass will be held in Curraheen Church on February 17th at 10am.
