Reconnecting across decades and oceans to the Dawson family

Dear family of Geordie Dawson,

I met and stayed with Beth and George Dawson in 1971 when travelling around the world. I was introduced to them by Joyce Burns Glen, a meditation teacher in Sydney, Australia.

Geordie came home briefly from England during my stay. It was clear what a gifted fellow he was and how much his family delighted in him. I exchanged letters with the George and Beth for many years, even when I moved to California from Australia to complete my doctorate (and where I have lived outside of San Francisco since). Recently, I wondered what happened to Beth, George, Beth's sister, Geordie, and Kilronan House.

I was surprised and delighted to read of his gifts as an artist, of his special family--and shocked to learn of his clearly premature passing. Since then, I have tried to find background on his art to no avail.

While I've not had the opportunity to meet you, Geordie's family, I still would like to offer my sympathies to you.

My links to place and people run deep and long--and those to your husband's family were cherished.

There is no need to be in touch if you prefer not but if you care to, I should be happy to respond.

Jill Mellick

Palo Alto, California jillmellick@gmail. com

PS I still have a beautiful, fully embroidered jacket that Geordie's aunt made and gave to me. I would be happy to return it to the family if it means anything to you.
