HEGARTY, Fr. John, C.S.Sp., (Kimmage Manor, Dublin 12 and late of Newcastle, Co. Tipperary, Dublin, Nigeria, Louisiana and Ireland), on February 19, 2010, (peacefully), in Tallaght Hospital, pre-deceased by his sister Mary (Hanratty); deeply regretted by his Holy Ghost confreres, his sisters Teresa (Ward) and Anne (Phillips), brother Tony, sister-in-law Eleanor, brothers-in-law Michael and Edward, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, R.I.P. Funeral Mass today (Monday) at 11.30 o'clock in the Church of the Holy Spirit, Kimmage Manor followed by interment in Dardistown cemetery.

He was my childhood Priest at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Norco, Louisiana. I have recently been praying to him for my granddaughter, Heidi's, healing. She will be three years old in June and has a terminal brain tumor, Diffuse Midline Glioma. Fr. Hegarty, please intercede for Heidi. God's will be done. Thank you, Lord, for the gift of Fr. John Hegarty. Amen.

<p>May He Rest in Peace!</p> <p>To the family and friends of Fr. Hegarty:</p> <p>My deepest sympathy to you for your loss. He was an outstanding priest; a man of honesty, integrity, loyalty and prayer;someone who always had time for another; to serve them and his God which he was called to do and did so well. I don't know what I would have done without him when we worked together at Sacred Heart of Jesus in Norco. He was a best friend. I missed him when he left and I miss him still and always will. See you in heaven, Fr. H., see you in heaven!</p>
