THORNHILL Richard J. (Blackrock, Co. Dublin) - August 23, 2011; deeply mourned by his loving wife Teresa, daughters Liz, Katharina and Michelle, grandchildren Alison, Anna and Millie, sisters Susan, Nora and Catherine, sons-in-law Stephen and Sean, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace. Funeral Mass tomorrow (Thursday) morning at 11 o'clock in St. Brigid's Church, Cabinteely followed by cremation at Mount Jerome Crematorium, Harolds Cross. No flowers please. Donations if desired to St. Vincent de Paul, Bray.

<p>Sad to hear</p> <p>I would like to express my sympathy to all the Thornhill Family on the loss of Dick.I met him through Kieran Murphy and found I had an instant affinity with him. I was delighted to be able to bring him to Croke Park to see his hero Henry Shefflin play in the club championship final in 2010.</p> <p>He told me he felt Henry was the best ambassador in irish sport and I think that says as much about Dick as it does about Henry...a life based on integrity and real application.</p> <p>I will be unable to attend his funeral today as I am just out of hospital but I am mindful of your loss. May he rest in peace. Michael O'Farrell</p>
