O'DONOVAN (Joe) S.C. Road, Limerick (August 13, 2009) - Joe's wife Déirdre, children Niamh, (Jim), Gráinne (Maurice), Jim (Stella) and Rory (Mary) and his six grandchildren would like to thank all the people who offered their sympathy and support during this sad time. To Monsignor Liam Boyle, who officiated at Joe's Mass and gave a meaningful eulogy; to Fr. Tom Mangan, Adm of St. Joseph's Church, for facilitating us, to Fr. Adrian Egan CSsR and the other priests and friends on the altar and at the graveside. To the past Captains and Presidents of Limerick Golf Club who formed a guard of honour, we thank you. To Dr. Jim Fehily, who looked after Joe so well, we offer our heartfelt thanks. To our wonderful neighbours in the S.C. Road, who offered Masses, flowers, wreaths and food, we are indebted to you. To John Thompson (friend and undertaker) and his staff, who made things easier for us, we thank you. We thank the nurses and doctors and the ambulance crew of the Mid-Western Regional Hospital for their kindness and consideration to us. Thank you also to Fr. Frank Downes, who was with Joe during his last moments. We are grateful to those who sent Mass cards, wrote letters and travelled long distances to be with us, especially Joe's sister-in-law, Brigid O' Donovan, and her family. The holy sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for your intentions.
