DAWSON, Anthony (Tony) - Neasa, Sorcha and Declan and the Dawson and McCarthy families, as our beloved and much missed Tony's First Anniversary approaches on October 21, wish to thank the people who attended his funeral, sent letters, travelled long distances, sent Mass cards, flowers and supported us through his illness. We would love to name you all and we were and are so uplifted by your love for him and us. However, there are some people it is right to thank individually. Firstly we thank Dr Sam Naser for his care and referral to the Beacon Hospital; To Dr Mahsood and the staff of the Beacon Hospital for their treatment for him and their compassionate support. Many thanks to Dr Paddy Connolly whose very personal Mass was a beautiful and sensitive occasion, Deidre Cooling Nolan, who sang so beautifully and Tommy Nolan who provided such a lovely recording of concierto de Aranquez, which was Tony's favourite piece of music. We cannot thank Sutton Lawn Tennis Club enough for their hospitality after the funeral. Neasa especially remembers the kindness of Michael Byrne, President of SLTC for his visits to the Beacon Hospital and to my home and to all the members of SLTC for their continued support. To all our wonderful friends, here and in Argeles and our neighbours we are especially grateful for your wonderful support throughout the last sad year. We thank especially Tony's colleagues in CDVEC for their support and a very sincere thank you to Jim Boland for his beautiful and thoughtful eulogy at his funeral Mass. Tony's tennis friends are also specially thanked. A contribution has been made in your and Tony's name to the Irish Cancer Society and we hope you will accept this as our tribute to you for your love, care and above all for our darling Tony whom we miss profoundly.
