<p>A poignant moment and a light-hearted circumstance</p> <p>Diana was through the years a wonderful friend to our Mum and family.</p> <p>Knowing your hearts are sorely grieved I just wanted to send to you these few words of assurance of our sympathy, and share a light-hearted email about a horse (see below)</p> <p>Do not try to explain to yourself so trying a time, but bring into requisition all the faith and courage you can muster.</p> <p>With these words of encouragement and sympathy in this dark hour of your lives I hope you take care of yourselves and look forward to hearing from you soon.</p> <p>Yours sincerely</p> <p>Niall, William and Conor</p> <div>" An email from Diana last June</div> <div>Hi Niall</div> <div>I'm delighted you got a mention in today's paper, it was well deserved. It is marvelous that Ondine won the top prize. Another feather in Neil Jordan's cap. I was having treatment in Blackrock today and keeping sane by reading the Irish Times when I spotted the article on the Irish pavilion. As soon as I saw mention of you and your labour of love I rang Kath and told her about it. She had actually bought a paper but hadn't opened it.</div> <div>She was over here drinking tea in the garden yesterday and was in terrific form. She had very kindly looked after the plants in my greenhouse while I was away at the weekend.</div> <div>Keep up the good work</div> <div>love Diana</div> <div>P.S> Pity we didn't know about the neighbour's horse as we could all have made a fortune. It came in at 20to1!</div>
