RYAN (Shane) (Lisclooney, Shannonharbour, Birr, Co. Offaly) (Died February 3, 2005) - Shane's parents, Liam and Chris, fiancée Anne-Marie Sorohan, brothers; Cathal, Aidan and Diarmuid, sisters; Niamh, Aoife and Clionadh and the large family circle, wish to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to all who supported and sympathised with us on the loss of our beloved Shane. We wish to most sincerely thank our relatives, friends and neighbours for the wonderful support, kindness and generosity extended to us at the time of Shane's sudden and tragic death. We thank all those who called to our home and attended the funeral in such large numbers, many of whom travelled long distances. We are grateful to all those who helped in our home and provided gifts during the wake and all those who helped with the catering after the funeral, with the provision of a beautiful meal for the large numbers in attendance. A special mention to the High St. Hall Committee, High St. Belmont Women's Group and Hiney's, Ferbane. We thank all those who sent Mass cards, enrolments, letters and cards of sympathy, floral tributes, those who called to and telephoned our home to express their sympathy and those who facilitated and signed the on-line book of condolence on the Ferbane/Belmont Minor GAA Club's Website. A special word of thanks to Fr Frankie Murray and Fr Pierre Pepper for their prayers and support at the time of Shane's death and who continue to comfort us as we journey through our grief. We greatly appreciate Fr Pierre's celebration of Shane's funeral Mass with his concelebrants; Fr Frankie Murray, Fr P.J. Fitzpatrick, Fr Simon Cadam, Fr John Cullen and Fr John Goode. Thanks also to the readers, those who took part in the prayers of the faithful, offertory procession and tributes to Shane, the singers and musicians, Marie, Raymond and Alison whose contribution greatly enhanced the ceremony, the altar servers, ushers, sacristan and friend Mary Cassidy and those who prepared the church and arranged the flowers. A very special word of thanks to Belmont and Ferbane G.A.A. clubs for their great support and their organisation and participation in the outstanding Guard of Honour which included Ferbane/Belmont Minor GAA Club, Belmont Gun Club, Buccaneers Rugby Club, fellow Offaly G.A.A. Clubs, the Offaly County Board, members of the 1995 Offaly U-21 panel, his school and underage county team-mates as well as his many workmates and friends. We were all deeply touched and appreciative of this moving tribute to Shane. We extend our grateful thanks to those who first arrived on the accident scene, the Gardaí, the Fire Brigade, Ambulance Service, to the staff at Tullamore Hospital, Dr Gabriel Murphy and Fr Pierre. We would like to thank Joe Grennan for the dignified and professional manner in which he carried out the funeral arrangements. Thanks go to the gravediggers, the stewards who attended to the large volumes of traffic at the house in co-operation with the Gardaí who also provided an escort to the church. Thanks to bereavement counsellor Mary Egan, to Anne-Marie's work colleagues and the fellow pharmacists who provided practical and personal support during this difficult time. Shane touched the lives of so many people during his lifetime and made many great friends through his passion for sport, his work and many other hobbies and interests and we thank you all for the wonderful friendship you gave to him and the support you gave to all of us in helping to ease the pain and suffering of our immense loss. As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we hope this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our sincere appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for the intentions of all. The Month's Mind Mass for Shane will be celebrated in the Church of SS Patrick and Saran, High St., Belmont, Co. Offaly on Saturday, March 5th, 2005 at 8 p.m.In loving memory of a cherished fiancé, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. We will miss you deeply, Shane.
