BALFE John Edward (Lucan, Co. Dublin) - August 5, 2010 (peacefully), after a long illness, surrounded by his loving family at Tallaght Hospital; sadly missed by his children Bryan, Barry, Stephen, Claire, Miriam and Eva, sisters, daughters-in-law, son-in-law, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends, especially his friends at Bective Rangers Rugby Club. Rest in peace. Removal on Monday morning from his residence to St. Patrick's Church, Lucan for Funeral Mass at 10 o'clock, followed by Burial in Kilmashogue Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired to the Irish Cancer Society.

<p>Farewell to a very fine man, John Balfe</p> <p>I have so many very fond memories of John from CBC Monkstown school days, Monkstown Tennis Club across the road, card schools mostly at Hegarty's. The occasional social pint and hearty chat inMcCormacks and Goggins (and a few more besides), Bective Rangers.............</p> <p>John was a fine, immensely likeable man and we'll all miss him.</p> <p>I had a long telephone chat with John about a month ago.
