MOORKENS, Margaret (née Casey) (First Anniversary, December 20, 2009) - Margaret's daughters Mary and Evelyn would like to thank all those who sympathised and supported us in the loss of our beloved mother. Our thanks to all who gave their time at Christmas to attend the removal and funeral, to Fr Tom Dooley C.C. and Fr Derek O'Connell O.H. for making these services so special, and for all the Mass Cards, flowers and letters of sympathy. We renew our deepest thanks to the staff of the first floor of Mount Carmel hospital for looking after our mother with such care and love. She is sorely missed.

.

Evelyn & Mary

It was purely by chance that I encountered this notice having been home in Dublin at the weekend at a memorial service for my Dad's second anniversary.

I remember your mother as a woman of strong conviction, possessed of a fiercely independent spirit who was also compassionate to those around her and sensitive to the problems of the world at large.

I don't know how your mother passed her final years (it has been so long since we last were in touch) but I hope they were peaceful and that she as able to preserve her human dignity as long as possible.

Although I know she will be sorely missed, I cannot profess to know how acutely you bear her loss but I hope that time brings some comfort and that you can treasure her memories more than you feel the pain.

I have a routine now (resurrected from childhood) where I light a candle in memory of my father when I visit a church. If you permit, then next time I would like to light one in memory of your mother Mary, your father Gustav and Evelyn & Mary, for your respective well-being and contentment in the future.

Take care.

Peter
