MULVEY (Gerry) (Former News Editor of the Irish Times) - December 14, 2010 (peacefully), aged 90 years, predeceased by Patrick (1986) and Mary (1991); father, grandfather and friend to many.He will be greatly missed.In accordance with his wishes, a family funeral has taken place.

MULVEY Gerry (Former News Editor, Irish Times) - It is one year since Gerry passed on to the great newsroom above. He is greatly missed by Joanna, Harry, Rachel, Leo, Gregory and Lucia, by his extended family and his countless friends. Sincere thanks to everyone who supported him in any way in his last twelve months, to those who came to his funeral and those who sent us their sympathy and support. Many thanks also to the staff in the Mater Private Hospital and to Rev. Denis Quinn. Take a moment or two today to remember him.

<p>A Lovely Man</p> <p>Gerry was the first Dublin newsman I shared a pint with, in the Palace Bar, when I first came to begin a journalism career in the capital. He was a first-rate newspaperman who knew his craft inside out, and more importantly, was a congenial, kind and loveable human being. My sympathy goes out to his family. May he rest in peace, Michael Finlan</p>
