NOLAN (O'Loughlin) (Ita) (Dunboyne, Co. Meath) (died March 12, 2005) - Ita's husband Peter, her children Sarah, Laura and Daragh, her parents Patrick and Joan and her sisters and brothers would like to sincerely thank all those who sympathised with us on our very sad loss and have supported us in so many ways over the last six months. Our thanks also for the many get well cards, Mass bouquets, Mass Cards, relics, messages of sympathy, letters of condolence, telephone calls, text messages, and beautiful floral tributes. We are very grateful for the support from the huge numbers that attended the house, removal, funeral and burial to pay their respects, especially to those who travelled long distances both in Ireland and beyond. It meant a great deal to us and it was a wonderful reflection on the esteem in which Ita was held. A special word of praise for the staff in the Mater Private Hospital who nursed Ita with such dedication and gentle care over the three years of her illness, for the nurses in St Bernadette's Ward, the Chemotherapy Day Ward, for the social workers, Brother Damian and especially Dr John McCaffrey and his medical team. We would also like to thank the many people who helped us to raise funds last year for the Cancer Care Unit in the hospital. We were very grateful to Monsignor Dunne and Fr Tony Gavin in Dunboyne for helping to make Ita's funeral Mass such a beautiful and touching ceremony; to the organist and for the beautiful hymns sung by Marian Reilly at the funeral Mass and the excellent primary school choir who sang at the removal led by their teacher Josephine Healy. We thank Cunninghams Funeral Directors for their professionalism; to the gravediggers, Altar servers, Garda Siochána and St Peter's G.A.A. for their guard of honour. Joan and Patrick are very grateful to all their neighbours and friends in County Kilkenny, for organising the buses to travel to Dunboyne and for the wonderful support given both during and after the funeral; and our thanks also go to Fr Frank Maher and Fr Pat Brennan from Johnstown for travelling to concelebrate the funeral Mass. Ita was always an avid Kilkenny hurling supporter and it was fitting that she received such a wonderful turnout from her native county; to Ita's work colleagues in Europa Hardware for their support and goodwill during her twelve years in business and especially during her time in treatment and for their continued support which is still greatly appreciated; to all of Ita's family and close friends who during her illness spent many hours at her side giving her encouragement and support to get through the many difficult days, which she always faced with great courage and determination. These were all the hallmarks of her 38 years on this earth. Ita is very deeply missed and is lovingly remembered by us all every day. She was a very special wife, mother and friend to all of us. We still don't know why she was taken from us so early but she did touch our lives in so many ways and we are just proud to have loved her. We trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our heartfelt thanks. We have asked for a mass to be dedicated for all your special intentions.
