NELIGAN Sara - It is just a year since we lost our beloved Sara. Maurice, Pat, Maurice (jnr), John, Kate, David, Lisa and Lucy would like to thank everybody who stood with them in this sad and lonely time."She is not dead,
the child of our affection
But gone into that school
Where she no longer needs
our poor protection
And Christ himself doth rule".
We would like to thank especially, our parish priest, Mgr. Seamus Conway and his concelebrants Fr. Denis Ryan P.P. and Fr Tony Gaughan P.P. and the very many clergy who were on the altar during the beautiful funeral Mass. Sara's teachers from the Sisters of Mercy, Dominican Convent, Sion Hill and Loreto Abbey, Rathfarnham came to say goodbye as did her tutors from the College of Nursing at the Mater Hospital. We thank Mrs. Ann Carrigy, the Chief Nursing officer in the Mater and all Sara's colleagues and those who formed the Guard of Honour for her last journey. Sara's classmates and friends were there for her as was our extended family and friends some of whom had come from all over the world to be with us. We particularly acknowledge Martina and Larry Kehoe who meant so much to Sara, and now to us. We wish to thank all our Kerry friends and all those from Dooks Golf Club who came to be with us knowing that many of the happiest moments of Sara's life were spent amongst them. We thank President Mary McAleese, then Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, Ministers and members of both houses of the Oireachtas for their support. We also thank our colleagues from the medical profession and people from every walk of life who were there for us all. A special acknowledgement is due for the Commissioner and Asst. Commissioner of the Gardai, for the individual guards who were so kind to us and for the Gardai Traffic Corps who smoothed our passage at the end. We wish to thank the many thousands of people who wrote to us, many sharing the strength they had gained from similar loss. It would be quite impossible to acknowledge everybody individually but we send our sincere thanks to you all. God bless you for your comfort in our sorrow. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for you in grateful appreciation.
"Thus do we walk with her
and keep unbroken
The bond which nature gives
Thinking that our remembrance,
though unspoken
May reach her where she lives".
