FITZGERALD (Cloughduv and Bishopstown, Cork), Gene - December 14, 2007, (peacefully) in the loving care of the staff of St. Brigid's Ward, Bon Secours Hospital, (former Minister of Labour, Finance and Public Service, former T.D. and M.E.P.), beloved husband of Noreen and loving father of Aileen, Aine, Aindrias, Niamh and Eimear; he will be sadly missed by his sister Mamie, his brother Dan, sons-in-law Andy, John and Pat, grandchildren Jack, Aoife, Lucy, Sadhbh and Eoin, sisters-in-law Calie and Margaret, brother-in-law John, nieces, nephews, relatives and a wide circle of friends. Lying in repose at the Wilton Funeral Home, Sarsfield Road of Jerh. O'Connor Ltd. from 2 o'clock today (Monday). Removal same day at 4 o'clock to the Church of Real Presence, Curraheen. Requiem Mass tomorrow (Tuesday) at 2 o'clock with funeral immediately afterwards to St. Oliver's Cemetery. Family flowers only.
