My great friend Seosamh O'Cuillin (Father Joe)

Seo (Father Joe) was my great friend for the past year and a half. He allowed me slowly to get to know him over the period of time that we corresponded online. I live far away in Washington, DC. It became apparent to me, quite soon, that I was corresponding with a truly unique individual, whose primary motivations in all things was love. He had many struggles in his life and was an example to me of great courage, commitment and grace. I consider the unlikely way we met and became friends no less than a gift from God. I am so shocked and indescribably saddened by his sudden death. It is as though I have lost a huge part of my spirit and a realization that the act of friendship with this wonderful man was an act in which the love of God becomes visible. I know that he was received with a heros welcome in the world after this one. May his spirit rejoice and may those who knew and loved him be comforted at this very sad time.

Fr. Joe Cullen OP

I was very sad when I heard of Fr. Joe Cullen's death. He was chaplain to the school that my children went when they received their first Holy Communion and he said mass and blessed our new home when we moved to Bancroft. He will always be remembered in our hearts. Mairin Oman
