MEEHAN Capt. John (Sandymount, Dublin) - On the First Anniversary of John's death, his son Tom and family would like to thank most sincerely all those who sympathised with them in their sad loss, especially the relatives and friends who attended the removal, funeral Mass and cremation and all who sent Mass cards, messages of sympathy and letters. We also wish to thank the card school, the close friends who supported him over many years as well as his kind neighbours in Claremont Park. We also thank the members of Railway Union and his friends and former colleagues from the Defence Forces and R.T.E. We particularly wish to thank Brig Gen. Denis Murphy G.O.C. 2nd Eastern Brigade, Msgr. Eoin Thyne H.C.F. and the bearer party from the 2nd Battalion for a fitting send off to an old soldier. We are also most grateful for the excellent care John received from the staff in I.C.U. at St. Vincent's University Hospital and from his G.P. Damien Ruttledge. Finally, we wish to thank Fr. Peter Briscoe of the Star of the Sea for his kindness and for officiating at the funeral ceremonies. Mass has been offered for your intentions.
