CLANCY (Dublin and Clare) - We the family of Lieut-Col Seán Clancy wish to warmly thank all who sympathised with us and offered support in our recent sad loss. We particularly extend our gratitude to Seán's friends, neighbours and members of the Army who visited him frequently and whose company he enjoyed so much. To the Parish Priest of Donnybrook Fr. Pat Carroll and the other priests who concelebrated the funeral Mass, attended the removal, and the prayers at the graveside, our grateful thanks. We deeply appreciate the presence of the representatives of the President and the Taoiseach and the attendance of the Minister of State at the Department of Defence, the Leader of the Opposition and the many other public representatives. A special word of thanks to the Chief of Staff and the Army representatives for their attendance and for the dignified honours rendered in the Church and at the graveside. This was a wonderful farewell to their oldest Soldier. Our heartfelt gratitude to the matron and staff of Newtownpark House and the doctors and nurses in St. Vincent's Hospital who cared for him so well. We wish to thank all who sent Mass Cards, letters of sympathy and flowers. As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we hope that this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our sincere appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for the intentions of all.
