PIERCE (Robert George) - Bob's family wishes to acknowledge the kindness of the many friends who have supported us since his death in December, and particularly those who remembered Bob by supporting the life-enhancing work of St Michael's House, Templeogue. As his illness developed, Drs John Thornhill, Stephen Lane, Vincent Maher, Ray McDermott and George Donald cared for Bob with great courtesy: we thank them and their support staff in the hospitals at Clane, Tallaght and Mount Carmel. We owe a debt of gratitude to the Home Care Unit of Our Lady's Hospice for helping Bob remain in the comfort of his own home to the very end. Local health nurse Susie Ennis and the night nurse provided by the Irish Cancer Society, Pearl Switzer, were both tireless in securing the highest level of care for Bob. We also thank the parish clergy in Rathfarnham - the Revds Ted Woods, Anne Taylor and Harry Lew - for their pastoral care, especially during the past three years. On Thursday next, Bob's ashes will be interred alongside those of his beloved Sina: together may they rest in peace, and rise in glory.
