IRWIN (T.J.S.) (Monkstown, Co. Dublin) - On the eve of what would have been our 40th Wedding Anniversary, Helen, together with Roy and Sandra, would like to thank all who sympathised with us on the sad, untimely death of our much loved Sam (aged 63) on 4th June last. To those who sent a letter or card, called to the house, telephoned or helped in a practical way; to Canon Cecil Mills and all who joined us in Holy Trinity Church for a fitting tribute and musical farewell. We have been greatly comforted by the many lovely words which have been written or spoken about Sam, confirming to us how fortunate we were to have had such a special friend in our lives. Sincere thanks to Dr. Fergus Mason, to the Blackrock Hospice Homecare Team and Physiotherapist, to all the Consultants, Doctors, Nurses and others who looked after Sam so well in St Vincent's Private Hospital and to those who sent a donation to the Oncology Nurse Education Fund there, so that others may benefit. Special thanks to our close friends and family who upheld us throughout our ordeal and are still giving us their time and much valued support during these difficult months; to our many friends in Carrickmines Golf Club who helped keep Helen on course during the past year; to Roy's friends and colleagues in New York who gave him extra support away from home; and to Sandra's friends and new family who comforted her through the sadness, which occurred in her first year of marriage. We hope that all of you will accept this as a token of our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude."The little pleasures in life pass
unrecognised
- until they are no more".
