ROCHE, John (Silliot Hill, Kildare, Co. Kildare, died February 12, 2007) - On this the first anniversary of our beloved John's tragic death, Ita, Jim, Shane, Gavin and Niall and extended family thank most sincerely all those who supported us in our inexpressible grief. A special word of thanks to those who attended the removal, funeral Mass and burial, who travelled from abroad, who visited our home or telephoned, who sent so many kind letters, Mass Cards and flowers and to our wonderful neighbours. Heartfelt thanks to John's uncle, Monsg. John Roche, Nigeria, for the deeply moving funeral Mass and homily and to his fellow concelebrants, to Parish Clergy Fr. A. Carbery and Fr. P. Dempsey, to the Parish Choir, organist and altar servers. Heartfelt thanks to the President, Staff and students of the Royal College of Surgeons for their tremendous support. Heartfelt thanks to the then Chief of Staff of the Defence Forces, Lt. Gen. J. Sreenan, to General Officers, to all Army colleagues, serving and retired, for their wonderful support, and to the staff of Ceannt Officers' Mess who catered so efficiently and courteously after the funeral. Sincere thanks to An Garda Síochana for their wonderful support, to Garda Stephen Brennan for his sensitivity and to Karina Friel, Welfare Officer for her kindness. Our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful members of Cill Dara GC for their overwhelming support. God bless John's great pals, Manuel, Michael, Paul and Shane - we wish you the brightest futures. Special thanks to the Presentation Sisters Carmela, Ellen and Brid for wonderful support, then and since. As it would be impossible to thank everybody personally, please accept this acknowledgement of our sincere gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for the intentions of all.We thought we knew pain!
