WRIGHT, John P. (late of The Diamond, Malahide, Co. Dublin, who died 24th June, 2008. R.I.P.) - On this the month of the Holy Souls, Mary, G.V., Pauline and Joan wish to express their grateful appreciation to all those who sympathised and showed such kindness during John's brief illness and death. We wish to extend our sincere thanks to his many loyal friends who selflessly gave of their time to help John during his period and for the support they extended to his family. We thank the Medical and Nursing teams at St. Vincent's Hospital for their professional care and understanding with special recognition to Mr Devitt, Drs Tiernan and Crowley, and the gentle humour of Sr Nuala. Our thanks to Fr Tanham, Archdeacon Brady and Father Eamon Fr Paul who officiated at John's removal funeral Mass. We were overwhelmed by the affectionate tributes paid to John by his friends and colleagues in the cricketing fraternity. In particular we extend our thanks to the members of the International, European and Irish Cricketing bodies for their kind sentiments. The personal memories written by his media friends were also greatly appreciated. A special word of thanks for all who attended his wake, removal, funeral mass and burial, who sent Mass cards, letters and flowers and donated to St. Francis Hospice. Special thanks to An Taoiseach Mr Brian Cowen TD, and former Taoisaigh Mr Bertie Ahern TD, Mr Albert Reynolds, Mr Liam Cosgrave, Government Ministers and many political friends. To Members of Malahide CC and St Sylvester's GAA who formed Guards of Honour. It is impossible to thank everyone individually but we will forever be within your debt. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
