KIELY (Comdt AJ) (Letterkenny and Tipperary) - Our gorgeous Dad, Tony, lost his brave battle with cancer on April 15, 2006. We greatly appreciate the care given to him during his illness by his GPs, the staff of St Luke's Hospital, the nurses at The Eye and Ear Hospital, Professor Curran and team, Mary Buckley and Eileen Brindley; the nurses and Katie, the Fourth floor staff, Dr John Crown and team of St Vincent's Hospital, Dublin. The loyalty, friendship and love shown to Dad by his family, friends and army colleagues during his illness meant so much to Dad and to us. To our special aunties and uncles - thank you. To Dr Karen Duffy and the oncology team, Dr David Flannaghan and palliative care team, Letterkenny General Hospital - thank you. We will be forever grateful for the love, kindness and exceptional care given to Dad and to us by the nurses, doctors, care attendants and chaplaincy of Donegal Hospice where Dad died, surrounded by love. Thank you to a very special lady, Kathleen Doherty, lay-chaplain, Fr Alan Ward CF, Fr Gerard Cunningham CC, Fr Adrian Gavigan and Fr Martin Chambers, chaplains, and Rev Stuart Wright, who visited Dad daily during Easter Week. Our good friends and neighbours who looked after us during Dad's last weeks, his wake and funeral, gave living testament to what Christianity is. Thank you to Pascal Blake, undertaker, and his colleagues, for their professionalism and sensitivity; to the Gardai for their assistance; to our friend Carmel Reilly and Eddie Gallagher soloists and to Evelyn Hickey, organist. To Brig. Gen. F. Swords, OC Western Brigade, Col. Michael Dwyer, Director of Reserve Forces, Comdt. John Martin, Rockhill House, to Dad's Cadet Class and all his colleagues in the Western Brigade and to the band of the 4th Brigade for their tribute to their comrade. We would especially like to thank Capt. Kieran Carey for his steadfast support throughout this heartbreaking time. Thank you to our friend Fr. Alan Ward CF for his loving support which shone through his celebration of Dad's Funeral Mass, and his co-celebrants, Fr Eoin Thynne HCF, Fr Robert McCabe CF, Fr Ger Dowd CF, Fr Tommy Curran, Fr Adrian Gavigan, Fr Gerard Cunningham, Fr Joe O Donnell and Fr Brian Quinn of The Church of the Irish Martyrs. Thank you to all who attended the removal, wake and funeral, and to those who sent Mass cards and gave donations to the Donegal Hospice. We would also like to thank all those who have continued to comfort us with such compassion and friendship. To our amazing mother, Fionnuala, without your constant love and support we would be lost - thank you. Tony's daughters - Yvonne, Laura, Tonia, Johanna and Sarah.
