O'KANE (Bernard) (Barney) (died July 8, 2006) - Remembered with love, a cherished husband to Lenore, a devoted Dad to Aoife, Orla and Neil, a loving son to his mother Bridget, a caring brother to his sisters Marian and Geraldine, brothers Eamonn, Dermot and Paul. To our wonderful neighbours, friends and relatives, and those of the O'Kane and Rothwell families in Belfast and Clonegal; we deeply appreciate your prayers, kind thoughts, words and deeds. Sincere thanks to all who visited our home, gave practical help, sent donations to Aware, sent floral tributes, Mass Cards, Perpetual Memoriam Cards, cards and letters sharing your memories of a professional and caring person. Heartfelt thanks to Barney's colleagues, friends and customers in Bank of Ireland, and particularly Donnybrook where he worked for many years and to Maryville & St. Margaret's (BOM) and the wider Donnybrook community. We cherish the support of our clergy, Canon McKinley, Rev. Heaney and Fr. O'Mahony OSA, and were deeply moved by the way they conducted the funeral Service. Thanks to those who paid tribute at the funeral, to the boys from Old Wesley and Leicester Celtic for providing a guard of honour for a much loved and respected sportsman and to the many who attended the funeral and especially those who travelled long distances. We also thank the Gardai for their help, and for ensuring a safe journey from our home to Barney's final resting place. We are grateful for the help given to the family by Taney and Muckross Park schools and Whitechurch Parish, also to colleagues in DLRCC for their continued support and to Barnardos for their ongoing help. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually we hope this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our appreciation.
