CHATTERIS (Nora Eveline) (née Mac Aleese) passed away in Durban, South Africa in her ninety-sixth year on January 14, 2006. Nora was born in Leinster Avenue, North Strand, Dublin, in 1910, and was the last surviving child of Patrick Edward (died Dublin 1916) and Mary Mac Aleese and a granddaughter of the late Daniel Mac Aleese MP for North Monaghan from 1895 to 1900. She was the sister of the late Donagh Mac Aleese of Castlebar. She was predeceased by her husband Jim Chatteris, her brothers and sisters and is survived by her loving sons Reverend Christopher SJ (Howick, KwaZulu, Natal South Africa) and Stephen, his wife Anne (née O'Neill from Belfast) who bother lovingly cared for her in her twilight years, her adored grandchildren Sarah, Frances and Damian, her sisters-in-law Olga and Olive Cominetti of London, Bridie Mac Aleese, her nieces Mary, Angela and Margo, her nephew Kevin and her cousin Dymphna Byrne. Nora's life was celebrated with a Requiem Mass at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Durban North and her ashes were scattered on her late husband's grave. May she rest in peace.
