WARD Bernard (Barney), died 28th March 2008. On this the first anniversary of our beloved Barney's death, his wife Joan, his sons Barry and Neil, his daughter Denise, his sister Angela and his extended family wish to thank all those who have sympathised with us on our sad loss. Sincere thanks to all those who attended the removal and funeral Mass and those who sent Mass Cards, messages of sympathy, flowers and donations to the Blackrock Hospice. We would especially like to thank Fr. Kennedy who celebrated the requiem Mass in such a touching manner, the doctors who looked after Barney during his illness, the Blackrock Hospice Home Care Team and especially District Nurse Olivia whose loving care made his illness bearable and enabled him to die at home and the caring staff of the Nightingale Unit in Blackrock Clinic who were so good to him. We would also like to thank his friends and ex-colleagues in A.I.B., the captains, Committee and members of Woodbrook Golf Club, members of both Dun Laoghaire Probus and Bridge Clubs for their great support to him and to us, and also the children from St Anne's Private School in Dun Laoghaire for their guard of honour at the funeral. All your thoughts and prayers are deeply appreciated. As it would be impossible, despite our best efforts, to write to everyone individually we hope that this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our deep and heartfelt appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for your intentions.
