Rosemary Garvey

I first meet Rosemary in the late 50's.I have Rosemary to thank for a number of things- introducing me to my Magowan cousins, inviting me to Mayo- I had never been to Ireland and really enjoyed my visit. Conversations and discussions with Rosemary were always interesting and enlightening. Rosemary recommended books for me to read on Irish History and her book that she wrote about the Garveys has been both informative and interesting. My she rest in peace after a facinating and full life.

Elizabeth Ray

Rosemary Garvey

I met Rosemary at Sunday lunch in Belfast in the 1960s (the troubles were under way; we didn't 'get out much') and came under her spell within the first few minutes - so bright, intelligent, interesting and interested in everything and everyone around her. Over the years shewas fantastically hospitable to me and other members of my family, and to just about eberyone else as well. I'm still working my way through the books she recommended to me about 10 years ago.
