FITZGERALD, Fr. Sean (Shane) S.V.D. Formerly of Dunamon Castle, Co. Roscommon and No. 3 Raglon Road, Dublin 4. - September 24, 2011 (peacefully at Winfield Nursing Home, Dunboyne, Co. Meath. Beloved son of the late Patrick and Frances Fitzgerald (Ballycahane, Crecora, Co. Limerick). Deeply regretted by his beloved brother Martin and sister-in-law Carmel, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and the Divine Word Missionaries Community. Rest In Peace. Presented at the Chapel of the Divine Word Missionaries, Moyglare Road, Maynooth, Co. Kildare today (Monday) at 7pm with prayers in Maynooth at 8am tomorrow (Tuesday) morning. Reposing at Divine Word Missionaries, Dunamon Castle, Co. Roscommon at 10.30am tomorrow (Tuesday) morning with Mass to follow at 12.00pm. Reposing at Cross's Funeral Home, Gerald Griffin Street, Limerick tomorrow (Tuesday) from 6.30pm with removal at 8.00pm to Manister Church, Crecora, Co. Limerick. Requiem Mass on Wednesday (September 28) at 12.00pm with burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Martin, I just looked up Shane's name and found the obit. I'm deeply sorry.

<p>A true friend and one of the finest Priests</p> <p>I encountered Shane when I was a seminarian in Saint Patrick's College, Carlow.</p> <p>Shane taught me more about the Priesthood and about myself than any theology course I have ever done.</p> <p>Well done Good and Faithful Servant</p>
