GORBY Noel (Boherboy, Cahersiveen, Co. Kerry and formerly Bawnboy, Co. Cavan, who died January 29, 2009) - Noel's wife Deborah, parents Colm and Vera, brother Fergal, sister Maureen, niece Claire, nephew Paul, aunt Nuala, brother-in-laws Michael and Paul, sister-in-law Ann and many relatives and friends wish to express their sincere thanks to all who sympathised with them on their recent sudden, sad loss of Noel. Sincere thanks to all who did everything to making Noel's wake in his house in Cahersiveen, so very special, at a few hours notice. Those who cleaned the house, cooked, catered and brought food and drink; especially Josephine, Aoife and Cathy, John and Dennis who stood by the door to greet, introduce and welcome people so warmly, Karen for her care. Those who travelled through three provinces in the rain bringing Noel back home to his dear mother Vera, father Colm and family in Bawboy and then helped carry Noel to his grave, thank you. Thanks to the many, many people who attended Noel's wake, removal and funeral, some travelling long distances to be with us. We would like to say a special thank you to Fr. Tom Mc Kiernan for his comforting words, for the poetry and prose, for his careful listening to people about who Noel was and reflecting that so well, in the beautiful Mass. To Michael, Noel's brother-in-law who spoke from his heart about Noel on the alter. Thanks to the neighbours who dug Noel's grave and lined it with wild ferns, which made it softer. Thanks to Fr. Fintan McKiernan and Fr. Eamon Lynch who assisted at Noel's removal and Mass. Thanks to Paul and Kevin for the beautiful music, the servers, sacristan and stewards. Thanks for the guard of honour when passing through Castleisland, Kerry on the long journey back to Cavan and then another at the church in Bawnboy. Thanks to P.J (Undertaker) in Cahersiveen and Noels uncle Cathal and cousin Bobby who brought Noel home to Bawnboy. Thanks to the doctors and nurses in the Mercy Hospital, Cork especially Mr Paul Sweeney. Thanks to Dr. Sheehan, Mr, Waldron, and staff in Tralee Regional Hospital. We trust and hope that this acknowledgment will show our deep gratitude and appreciation to all who offered support. Thanks to everyone who sent cards, letters, emails, texts, flowers and phoned expressing their sympathy and memories of Noel. Contributions will be made to the Kerry Hospice and Kerry Astronomy Club in memory of Noel.
