SHEILS (Des) (Rathmines) (Died March 23, 2008) - On this day of the interment of Des's ashes, Des's wife Attracta (Heffernan) wishes to thank all those who sympathised at this sad time. Special thanks go to those who came to wake Des at home; to those who came to the church and the cemetery; to his dear friend Allen; our good neighbours; to old friends in need - from Chelmsford Lane and Beaumont - and new friends who amaze me with their kindness; to family only recently rediscovered; to all in the motorcycle and car fraternity - IVVMCC, MCUI, Blessington VCMC; to Brian and Richard who officiated; to the Heffernan family, all of whom were superb; finally, my thanks to the doctors, nurses and ancillary staff in the Bons Secour who attended Des so compassionately in his final illness. I hope all those to whom I have not managed to reply individually accept this notice as thanks. A donation has been made to the Irish Cancer Society in appreciation.
