DOHERTY (née Milner) (Carol-Anne) (Clontarf and Dunboyne) (died Oct 26, 2005) - On Carol-Anne's first anniversary, I, John (husband) on behalf of the Milner family, Clontarf and my own family, Malahide wish to express our sincere gratitude to all our wonderful friends, neighbours and relatives who supported us prior to, at the time of, and since Carol-Anne's death. We extend our deep appreciation to all who attended the removal service, funeral Mass, and burial, in particular those who travelled long distances. To all those who called to the house, sent Mass Cards, letters of sympathy, phone calls and texts, those who helped in our house and those who made donations in Carol-Anne's name, we thank you. To Prof. John Crown and his team, for their care and dedication to Carol-Anne over eight years we are very grateful. We are also grateful to Fr Vincent and the Palliative Care Team together with the nurses on the fourth floor in St Vincent's Private Hospital for making Carol-Anne's final weeks as comfortable as possible. Many thanks to my many colleagues from Permanent tsb and Carol-Anne's from the Blackrock Clinic for their kindness and thoughtfulness around time of death and throughout Carol-Anne's illness. Our thanks also to Mons. Dunne, Fr. Tony Gavin, Fr. Byrne and Fr Hogan who concelebrated a very special Mass. Indeed Fr Tony is also due our thanks for his visits to Carol-Anne, his prayers in our house at time of removal, and his kind assistance at all times. To all those involved in the music at the removal and Mass, Teresa and the C.C.E. Dunboyne musicians, the Keegan family and their friends, we extend a very heartfelt thank you, such was your truly inspirational music and singing. You all made the ceremonies so very special indeed. Carol-Anne would have been so delighted. A special word of thanks to Carol-Anne's best friend, Edel and to Nuala, Mary, Jennie and Anne and all Carol-Anne's nursing (rota) friends who were all so truly magnificent during Carol-Anne's final weeks. Several guards of honour, of Irish dancers, cub-scouts, sports clubs and ex-nursing colleagues, lined the route from house to Church at removal for which we thank all participants. We would also like to thank the Dunboyne Gardaí for their respectful demeanour and assistance on both days, and Cunninghams funeral directors for their professionalism. Carol-Anne's main memorial Mass will be at 8 o'clock on Friday evening, November 3 at the Church of Ss Peter & Paul, Dunboyne. There will also be a Mass there this Sunday, October 29 at 9 o'clock As it is impossible to write to everybody individually, please accept this as a symbol of our gratitude for which the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
