PATTON (Lieutenant Colonel John Colin Patton) - Yvonne, John, Pauline and Desmond would like to thank the people to sympathised with us on the death of Colin on this, his First Anniversary. His many army colleagues, relatives and friends in Dublin and Monaghan; those who travelled long distances to comfort the family at a time of great loss. We thank the Chief of Staff of the Defence Forces, Lt. Gen. Jim Shreenan and the General Staff; Lt. Gen. Colm Mangan, retired; Comdt. Martin Ketterick, also members of the Liaison and Bearer Party at Monaghan Barracks; Military Police for the escort to Dublin; Mess President, McKee Barracks; Monsg. John Crowley; Frs. Sean McDermott and Pat Mernagh, Defence Forces Chaplaincy; Fr McKenna, St Joseph's Presbytery, Monaghan; Fr Brendan Kearns; Drs. Dermot O'Gorman and Eileen O'Riordan, Monaghan; staff of the Oncology Unit, Cavan General Hospital; Monaghan Hospice Home Care; Secular Franciscan Order, Monaghan; members of R.N.L.I., Monaghan branch, of which Colin was Chairman; staff and students of Caritas College, Ballyfermot; funeral directors Heuston & Scott, Monaghan; those who donated to R.N.L.I. and Hospice Home Care, sent Mass Cards, letters of sympathy and called to the house. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust this acknowledgement on Colin's First Anniversary will be accepted as a token of our appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be celebrated in Monaghan for your intentions.
