SHANNON, Monsignor Thomas (retired Parish Priest of Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo) - August 14 2008 (unexpectedly), in the company of his sister Bridie in Namibia, Africa, brother of the late Seán Shannon, Rita Purcell (Tuam) and Mary Storey (Australia); deeply regretted by his brother Micheál, sisters Bridie (Sr Assumpta), Aileen, sister-in-law Maruja, nephews, nieces, extended family, Archbishop Michael Neary, Archbishop Joseph Cassidy, and his brother priests of the Archdiocese of Tuam, his devoted housekeeper Margaret, parishioners and a large circle of friends. Rest in peace. Remains will arrive at St Mary's Church, Ballinrobe tomorrow (Sunday) evening, August 24 at 8 o'clock Reposing in the Church on Monday from 2 o'clock to 8 o'clock Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Mary's on Tuesday at 2 o'clock with interment immediately afterwards in the Church grounds.
