ANDREWS - On the First Anniversary of the death of Niall, Bernadette, Christopher and Tina, Niamh and Greg, Kate and Niall, would like to express our warmest thanks for the kindness of all those who sympathised with us during Niall's illness and after his death, either with Mass cards, letters of sympathy, phone calls and kind words. We miss him every day for his generosity, the caring and colour he brought to our lives and the attention he lavished on us and on his beloved grandchildren, Siobhra, Caoimhe, Saoirse Mai, Fiadh, Cian, Luisa, Tom and Charlie. The immediate and ongoing support shown by his brothers David and Hugh, their wives Annette and Angela, sister-in-law Eva Andrews, nieces, nephews, and the Tubridy family, has been deeply comforting and invaluable. Thanks to all the consultants, doctors, nurses, catering staff and physiotherapists, Sister Sheila and the Pastoral Care Team, St Vincent's Hospital and his G.P. Dr Stephen Mulvey, for their caring professionalism and kindness. We would also like to thank the Stafford Family Funeral Directors who guided us through the arrangements with great sensitivity. We greatly appreciate everyone who attended the funeral and those who travelled long distances. Thanks to President Mary McAleese, her husband Martin, and An Taoiseach's Aide de Camp. To Monsignor Donal O'Doherty who celebrated Mass and for his sustaining ministry. To Fr Collins who officiated at the graveside. Thanks to the Choir and to Gerard Cullen for his rendition of the "The Parting Glass". A special thanks to Eoin Ryan M.E.P., Terry Hand, and Brian Crowley M.E.P., who paid eloquent and fitting tributes to Niall which we enjoyed and appreciated. We also appreciated Mohammed Latiffe's consoling words from the Koran. To all of Niall's colleagues at R.T.E., the Dáil and European Parliament, who paid tribute to Niall's work over the years and whose company he enjoyed. To all Fianna Fáíl Cumainn members for their Mass Cards and letters of sympathy. A special thanks to Mary, Helen and Christy McCarthy, who together with our long-standing friends, are a daily source of strength. To our neighbours and old school friends in Dundrum and Drimoleague, whose letters and thoughtfulness means so much. We hope this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our appreciation and gratitude.
