MacELLIN, Una (née King), Victoria House Lodge, Dalkey, Co. Dublin, who died on January 25, 2008 - 2 weeks short of her 100th Birthday. On this First Anniversary of Una's death, her daughters and their families, Connollys, O'Sullivans, Donnellys and Lenehans, her grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren, recall with joy, tinged with sadness, the wonderful long life of a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, who enriched and inspired all our lives for so many years. Today, we would like to acknowledge and thank most sincerely all who jointed us in our time of deep mourning, by your attendance at the removal and the funeral Mass at the Church of the Assumption, Dalkey, Co. Dublin, by the many Masses you have had offered, the wonderful and consoling letters of sympathy, the phone messages and texts of support and the beautiful flowers in remembrance. For the memorable Holy Mass Celebration of a gifted life, we wish to thank Fr John McDonagh, P.P., Dalkey, and all the Concelebrants: Fr Paddy Devine, CSSp, Blackrock College, whose kind and uplifting Homily was an inspirational reflection on the beautiful 'flowering' of Motherhood, uniquely expressed, he suggested, by the joyful presence and participation of her 40 great-grandchildren too!; Mons John Maloney, Rathgar; Mons Willie Cleary, Mornington, Co. Meath; Fr Pat Carroll, P.P., Donnybrook; Fr Pat Mangan, P.P., Dun Laoghaire; Fr John Fennelly, Knock, Co. Mayo and Fr Peter Sinnott, CC, Dalkey. Thank you to all others who participated in making the whole ceremony so meaningful, especially Ciaran Nagle and Fionnuala Gill for their glorious singing and the Kenrie Quartet; great-granddaughter Eimear Reihill for her moving 'Farewell Poem' and to all who helped prepare the treasured Requiem Mass Booklet. We would also like to thank Fanagans Funeral Directors for their compassionate and professional attention to all the arrangements for the funeral and for bringing Grannie to her last resting place at Shanganagh. May she rest in peace. To all who so lovingly cared for Grannie during those last years, we send our warmest thanks, especially to her wonderful, kind and generous GP, Dr Elizabeth Daly and to her much loved Home Help Carers, who were such a source of great comfort and support. Finally, we thank everyone, our extended family, relatives and friends who have continued to be with us in loving kindness during this past year. We hope that this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our deep and heartfelt appreciation and with our immense gratitude Deo Gratias. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for all your intentions.
