McCARTAN (Baltrasna, Kells, Co. Meath) - May 4, 2006 (peacefully), after a prolonged illness, in the wonderful care of the staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, Charlie, beloved husband and companion to Helen for 55 years, father, mentor and friend to daughter Deirdre, sons Junior, Tom (deceased), Peter, John and James, friend and ally to daughters-in-law Louise, Ursula, Trish and Lisa, son-in-law John and new friend Mary, "funster" and playmate to grandchildren Lepha, Charles, Adam, Jennifer, Bernard, Terence, Tom, Johnny, Helen, Christopher, Sarah, J.J. and Liam, loving and supportive brother to Xavier (deceased), Daniel, Philip and Brian; sadly missed by relations, in-laws and friends. Renewing his partnership with his beloved Tom to win the greatest prize of all. Rest in peace. Remains arriving at St Mary's Church, Moynalty, arriving at 7 o'clock this (Friday) evening. Funeral tomorrow (Saturday) after 11 o'clock Mass to adjoining cemetery. No flowers, please; donations, if desired, to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. House private.
