CAREY, Tony (Anthony) (Greystones, Co. Wicklow) Died March 21, 2008) - Mary, Mark, Tara, Aoife, Aisling and families, Tony's sister and brothers and extended family wish to thank most sincerely all those who offered sympathy and support during our recent sad loss of our beloved husband, father, granddad, father-in-law, brother and brother-in-law. We thank our friends, colleagues and neighbours who called to our home, brought refreshments, sent Mass cards, messages and letters of condolence. We will always remember and appreciate the kindness you have shown to us during this difficult time. We deeply appreciate your presence in such large numbers at Tony's funeral Mass, many of you travelling very long distances to be with us to pay your last respects to Tony. We are most grateful to Fr. Michael Kilkenny, Superior of the Holy Ghost Fathers, who concelebrated Mass with Tony's brother Fr. Brian Carey, to the priest of the parish, the members of the Holy Ghost order and Sisters of Holy Faith for their support and prayers. To the nurses, doctors and caring staff of the Cara Unit and Cedar Ward, St. Vincent's Private Hospital who looked after Tony so expertly and with great kindness in the last weeks of his life, we are deeply grateful to you all. Thank you to those who contributed very generously to the fund for Oesophageal Cancer Research in Tony's memory. A total of [EURO]1,650 was forwarded to the Cancer Society after the funeral; this was in addition to contributions made directly by individuals to Cancer Research. Please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions. While Tony is sadly missed by us all we take comfort from our many happy memories of him.May he rest in peace.
