COONEY, Fr Michael (Howth Parish) - On the occasion of Fr Michael's First Anniversary, his brothers Fr Brendan (Kiltegan) and Eugene (Conn., USA) would like to thank all who sympathised, telephoned, sent Mass cards, emails and texts on the occasion of Michael's death. To all who attended the funeral ceremonies, we express our sincere gratitude. To the extended Cooney and Murray families, we do likewise. To the Cooney nurses and Lucy who tended to him so lovingly in his last days, we say a big thank you. We would also like to express our deep appreciation to the Parish Priest of Howth, Mgr Houlihan and to Canon Maloney and above all to the parishioners and school principal, former principal, staff and pupils of St Mary's Primary School, who gave him such a wonderful send off. To the staff at Beaumont Hospital under Professor Frank Murray and his own GP, Dr Damien Jennings who cared for him so diligently, a special word of thanks. We also thank the Archbishop of Dublin, Dr Diarmuid Martin, the auxiliary bishops, priests and class mates, especially his close friend, Bishop Dermot O'Mahoney, for their support. To the musicians and singers who helped make the funeral liturgy so memorable, a big thank you. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for you all and will be offered again after the Anniversary Mass in Howth on Sunday, July 9th at 10.30 o'clock We hope you all will accept this as acknowledgement, as it would be impossible to reply individually to all who participated in some way in the sad event. May his great soul rest in the eternal peace he so ardently desired.
