HAUGHEY (Charles J.) (Abbeville, Kinsaley, Co. Dublin) (Former Taoiseach and Leader of Fianna Fáil) - Wife Maureen, daughter Eimear, sons Conor, Ciarán and Seán, sister Maureen and brothers Seán and Fr Eoghan wish to thank all those who sympathised and offered support during our recent sad bereavement. The family wishes to express its appreciation to those who attended the funeral; President Mary McAleese and her husband Martin; Taoiseach Bertie Ahern; Members of the Government; Members of the Council of State; Members of the Judiciary, and all public representatives from North and South. We wish to thank His Grace, The Most Reverend Archbishop Diarmuid Martin DD for his participation in the Solemn Requiem Mass, as well as Fr Peter Finnerty, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Consolation Church, Donnycarney and all the other priests who concelebrated the Mass. A special word of thanks to the Palestrina Choir under the direction of Fr Patrick O'Donoghue, the musicians who performed during the ceremony and those who paid special tributes on the day. We would also like to thank the Protocol Section of the Department of the Taoiseach and the Office of Public Works for the organisation of the State Funeral. We deeply appreciate too the involvement of the Defence Forces and An Garda Síochána in all aspects of the funeral. We offer our heartfelt gratitude to all our relations, neighbours and wide circle of friends for their support at this sad time; to all those who sympathised with us, who sent flowers, letters or Mass Cards; to those who called to Abbeville; to those in attendance in the church for the reposing in the Mortuary Chapel, the removal of remains, the funeral Mass or at St Fintan's Cemetery; to those who travelled a long distance or came from abroad and to those who made a donation to St Francis Hospice or the Irish Cancer Society. We extend our gratitude to you all for your prayers, support and friendship at this sad time. Finally, we would also like to thank very sincerely Stafford's Undertakers for their unfailing help and assistance at all times. As it would be impossible to thank everybody individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our deep gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for all your intentions."Ar dheis Lámh Dé go raibh a anam."
