SOMERS (Nancy and Tony) - I would like to thank all those who showed such kindness and sympathy at the time of my Mother's illness and her Funeral and the interment of my Stepfathers ashes. To those who called to the house, who came to the Funeral Service, who sent floral tributes, Mass and Sympathy cards. Many thanks to my colleagues in the DSFA and the CPSU who travelled great distances to be with me. My thanks to the select vestry of St Peter's, Portlaoise. I will ever be grateful to the Rev Hilary Dungan and Rev Nancy Gillespie who guided me through the heartache of the funeral with such goodness and compassion and who led such a consoling service. Thanks to the choir, in particular my appreciation to the organist, the late Marian Kerr. May she rest in peace and rise in glory. My thanks to Portlaoise Hospital Services, in particular the nurses and doctors of the ICU, the Medical Ward and the CCU. Quite simply, they were marvellous. A special thanks to Mum's GP, Dr. Gerard White. I have been blessed in having the friendship of Anne and Kevin Dennehy, Sylvia and Avril Jestin and Pat Gaynor. They have been beacons of Christian kindness in my life and I would have been lost but for them. Finally, I thank God for the blessing of my mother's life and that he chose not to take her suddenly from me. We had great chats in the last few weeks. Dennis Walshe, Portlaoise. Lord takes away. Blessed
be the name of the Lord."
