O'DONOVAN, Fred. Passed away on May 14, 2010. Sally, Fiona, Sally Ann, Penny and Freddie, Fred's brother Bill, sons-in-law Andrew and Brian, daughter-in-law Patricia and his grandchildren Jack, Sarah, Anna and Katie would like to thank all those who contacted them during this time of great loss. Fred's departure leaves a large gap in our lives but we have been greatly helped by your cards, letters, phone calls, emails, flowers and donations to the Irish Cancer Society. Thank you for attending his funeral and dropping in to the house. A special thanks to the support of so many people on the day of the funeral - to Mons. Brendan Houlihan, and the concelebrants: Fr. Dermod McCarthy (RTE), Rt. Rev Eoin Thynne (HCF), and Father Ger Dowd (CF); for the lovely music of Geraldine O'Grady, Virginia Kerr and Margaret O'Sullivan and the friends who read so beautifully. We are especially grateful to the wonderful doctors, nurses, chaplains, catering and cleaning staff at the Bon Secour Hospital, especially the HDU teams who were so kind to Fred while his health was failing. We have been overwhelmed by the support from all our relatives, friends and neighbours and we would like to take this opportunity to thank you all most sincerely."Death is nothing at all, I have only slipped away into the next room".
