LAVAN Vivian (Retired Judge of the High Court). On the First Anniversary of Vivian's death, his wife and family would like to express their gratitude to everyone who sympathised with them: We would like to thank all those who attended Vivian's removal, funeral Mass and burial. In particular, we wish to acknowledge the attendance of President McAleese's aide-de-camp, Comdt Michael Walsh, Chief Justice Susan Denham and all the judges and retired judges of the Supreme, High, Circuit and District Courts. We were especially touched by Judge Eugene Sullivan's journey from Washington, D.C. We would also like to thank everyone who wrote or sent Mass cards. We are very grateful to all who contributed to Vivian's funeral services, particularly uilleann pipers Toss Quinn and Kevin Rowsome, singer Méabh Nic Mhaoláin, violinist Saerlaith Murphy and Elisha D'Arcy of the Courts Service. A special thank you to celebrant Msgr. Seamus Conway for his kindness and spiritual guidance. We also wish to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of St Vincent's Private hospital and Vivian's G.P., Dr Donald Brookes. We would like to pay a special tribute to the Blackrock public health nurses, the homecare and day-care nurses from the Blackrock Hospice and the night nurses supplied through the Irish Cancer Society: their support sustained us all. The holy sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for your intentions.
